LP Stitch: Loud

I’ve been on blogging hiatus for the past few weeks finishing my e-book, but have some time while I wait for my editor (i.e. my mom) to review the draft. For this project, I did Rihanna’s Loud (2010). Not only is the cover great for a smaller format (the closeup shot is easier to render), it made me nostalgic for the time in my life when the album was released.

In another life, I was an aspiring pop music scholar. While it didn’t work out for various reasons, I’m still very in-touch with my inner pop music nerd. At this point, videos like this (off of Loud) excited me because of the inevitable number of think-pieces they would produce…

About a year later, after I returned from Poland and crashed from pretty epic, manic high, I had this song (also from the album) in my playlist; it perfectly captured what I was feeling at the time. Every time I see the album cover, I think of its icon popping up on my phone in a “I’m really glad that time in my life is over, but I still kinda miss it” sort of way…
